I attend various classes and individual seasonal challenges at YMCA. Periodically there are also painting classes that I really enjoy in a small intimate environment.
Zumba is fun and silver sneakers classes keep me mobile, flexible and strong. Great instructors.
Awesome Boot Camps, HIIT, and super-friendly and helpful staff.Sunset Yoga and Outdoor Cycling were creative spins and made it fun, engaging and built a greater sense of community.
I've tried various classes but what I like best is Silver Sneakers. Both instructors -- Shannon and Sandy -- are excellent and keep the classes fun while giving you a good workout.
I love the classes, its basically the main reason I signed up to pay more per month at the YMCA than I would at Planet Fitness. Karianne's bodypump class is so much FUN - she never fails to bring the energy and it makes such a difference and I look forward to attending her class every week! Sandy's yoga class is also hands down the best yoga class I have ever attended. She is such a pro and keeps me coming back week over week!
Love this little ymca had no basketball court but still very nice!! But berry nice Pool and gym and daycare
My children have been going to daycare there for years. Staff was always friendly. Unfortunately they have recently become anti science and using children as political pawns, when they decided to force masks on the 3 and 4 years olds. There has not been an outbreak or any covid infections traced to the childcare facility. Children are not infectious with covid 19 based on actual science. I would imagine they are using our 3-4 year olds to push the experimental covid shot on the children once it is available to get them out of the masks. We were only given a weekends notice that this would take place. Now we are scrambling to find a new daycare so that my little girl will BE ALLOWED TO BREATH FREELY.
I would love to do 0 stars, but I could not do that so it will have to be 1 star. My family and I joined a week ago and today Saturday we decided to go as a family to swim, we came to the Y in Fordhaven and were greeted by Pat, Pat informed us we needed to take photos for our daughters and then we were on our way. I took a shower with both of my daughters and then when we came to the pool the instructor informed us the pool was closed until 12, which we understood, went back to change room with 2 frustrated toddlers and a very frustrated Momma; I came to the front desk and started to speak to Pat, informed her how frustrated I was at the fact that she saw us come in, knew we were new , hence the photos, and still did not ask or even inform us of the pool closure of midday, she then preceded to ignore me while I explained my frustration to her and checked in 2 additional guests to then ask me what my name was, as you could imagine I just walked away at that point to avoid further escalation. I would recommend joining a Y that is more customer friendly, a place where perhaps they offer a welcome letter or pamphlet so that new members can be informed, or having signs posted throughout club so that we may all see. Stating embarrassment is an understatement. I asked for the manager and there was none. Unfortunately I am no happy or satisfied and will always seek my moneys worth. I will be opening my membership somewhere else after I speak to the manager and request a refund in full.
I love the YMCA Southwest. I have made a lot of new friends and the instructors are patient but at the same time motivate me to do more!
